Below are sone wisdom nuggets that I thought I’d share with you today…be strengthened and encouraged.
Never compare yourself to other women. There will always be someone more attractive, competent, fluent, poised, articulate, intelligent, qualified, fit, influential, funny, talented, anointed, popular or shapely than you are. That’s okay. The attributes God gave you are tied into His purpose for you, so maximize what you have and shine in your own unique way for His glory.
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”
Psalm 139:13-14 – NIV
Take care not to allow the pressure of expectations, the lack of understanding, the looks of disapproval, the negative vibes, the critical spirit, the absence of support, the wary facial expressions, the scorn, the gossip, or the threats from those around you, or even closest to you, cause you to divert from or abandon the path, the process and ultimately the fulfillment of what you know to be God’s will, plan and purpose for your life. Focus and stay focused.
“Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways.”
Proverbs 4:25, 26 – NIV
Watch the company you keep…the people, books, magazines, music, movies, T.V. shows, videos, websites and social media you hang around and regularly expose yourself to. Whether you’re aware of it or not, they influence your thoughts, desires, emotions, speech, behavior, decisions, and very posture in life either for better or worse. Watch the company you keep.
“Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.”
I Corinthians 15:33 – NIV
Though others may despise them, never despise your tears. Cry when you need to cry. Cry when you don’t even know why you’re crying. The pouring out of tears is God’s masterful way of washing stuff out of the depths of your soul and giving you a sense of relief, refreshment and renewal.
It’s been just over a month since I last posted…yes, that’s quite a while.
Lots has been going on at many levels that warranted my attention making the time to write limited, and when available, truthfully, the inspiration simply was not there.
The most impactful of all events during this period was Hurricane Dorian, in my opinion better termed “Terrocane” Dorian because of the terror and destruction it unleashed on my country, the Bahamas.
“Terrocane” Dorian Arrives
On Sunday. September 1st, Category 5“Terrocane” Dorian, packing winds of 185 mph with gusts over 220 mph and storm surge of up to 25 feet, made landfall on our island of Abaco, then a day later on our island of Grand Bahama where it lingered for over 36 hours, more than 18 of which it sat almost stationary, before leaving.
“Terrocane” Dorian was the strongest Atlantic storm on record, tied only with the 1935 hurricane that hit the Florida Keys, and the strongest hurricane on record to hit the Bahamas.
To date, the official death count as a result of Dorian’s passage is 58 and expected to rise as there are still 600 persons missing. Approximately 13,000 homes were severely damaged or totally destroyed, about 70,000 people are homeless, and the overall damage has been estimated at over $7,000,000,000 US Dollars.
“Unbelievable! Indescribable! Unfathomable! Mind-blowing! Terrorizing! Gut wrenching! Heartbroken! Dazed! Confused! Never seen anything like it! It’s like a bomb was dropped! I have nothing left but I thank God I’m alive! I saw the water sweep people away! My son was snatched out of my arms! My mother fell off the roof into the surge! I can’t locate my sister and father! The windows of my house blew out with a boom! The roof flew off the shelter! The walls fell in! Water filled the entire bottom floor of my house up to the ceiling! Bodies were everywhere! The stench of death was in the air! Gone, everything once recognizable is gone! I want to wake up from this nightmare!”
That’s just a mini sample of some of the sentiments expressed by persons after the storm, and though riveting in and of themselves, even those words pale in their adequacy to reflect and express what transpired experientially and materially.
The Nightmare Of A Missing Relative
My family experienced first-hand the nightmare of having a missing relative after the storm.
One of my aunts, a medical doctor who lives on the island of Grand Bahama but held a clinic on the island of Abaco remained on Abaco to ride out the storm.
I spoke with her on the Sunday morning that “Terrocane” Dorian began making landfall and lost all contact with her that afternoon because of the storm.
As a result of this, my family and I had no way of finding out how she fared during the storm or if she was dead or live after it left.
Although we were outwardly calm and kept the faith, not knowing my aunt’s condition or whereabouts was a harrowing experience for me and my family, especially considering the fact that the area in which she stayed was decimated…the word was “Marsh Harbor Abaco is gone!”
Seeing all the pictures and videos of devastation and raging flood waters, and hearing multiple stories of bare survival, death, and destruction via social media and over our local television networks made the situation even more dire, yet we remained prayerful and hopeful and did all we could to find out anything at all about her well-being.
It wasn’t until 3 days later on Wednesday evening that I received a text message from an anonymous number telling me that my aunt said to let me and the family know that she was okay, she made it to a shelter and needed help to leave Abaco.
Once I verified that the information was legitimate, I let my family know my aunt was okay and the rejoicing began…we are so, so grateful to the Lord for keeping her safe and sparing her life in the midst of all the danger… Praise His Name!
Back Home Safe
The ensuing miraculous chain of events orchestrated by God that enabled my aunt to leave Abaco and arrive safely in Nassau, our capital, within the next 24 hours in the midst of thousands and thousands of people trying to do the same thing is too much too relay at this time, but again, I must express thanks and praise to God for His Grace and Favor.
God’s arm of protection was around my aunt in so many ways, especially considering that the entire second floor of the two-story building where she stayed was completely destroyed and she had absolutely no idea of the destruction that had taken place just above her head
It was not until when during the eye of the storm, fearing for their lives, her landlord and his wife who lived in that space fled downstairs to seek shelter in their other apartment unit and knocked on my aunt’s door in transit letting her know what had happened, that she realized what had occurred.
Our story has a happy ending and we are eternally grateful to the Lord for that, but many other persons were not as fortunate.
Because of this, even in the midst of our rejoicing, we mourn with the persons who lost family members to death and with those who still have them missing, and are saddened by the multiple reports of persons who have lost their homes, businesses and all their material possessions…it’s been a true bitter/sweet experience.
“Terrocane”Dorian has wreaked tremendous havoc and destruction on our Abaco and Grand Bahama islands and in the lives of the people who inhabited those islands.
While addressing the United Nations General Assembly last week, our Prime Minister, Dr. the Hon. Hubert A. Minnis described Hurricane Dorian as a “generational tragedy” and called on world leaders to take urgent action to combat the global climate crisis. This is critical not only for our nation, but for many other nations of the world.
In an effort to constructively and proactively move forward, Prime Minister, Minnis has established a new government ministry, the “Ministry of Disaster Preparedness, Management and Reconstruction”, to lead recovery and development efforts, as well as future disaster responses in the country.

Grateful For Assistance
The people of my country and I are extremely grateful for the overwhelming love, concern, support, encouragement, prayer and multi-level assistance that has poured in, and continues to pour in to our nation.
Although a resourceful and resilient people, we need as much help from the international community as we can possibly get as we walk down this almost overwhelming never-before-travelled road of disaster relief, recovery and re-building.
I ask that you remember our nation in your prayers and if moved in your heart to assist in some way, here’s a link https://www.bahamas.com/reliefto some of the official organizations and agencies that are able to facilitate the same.
Some ask, “Why did God allow this to happen?”
Thoughts, opinions, theories and prophetic words abound, but the truth of the matter is that no one will fully knows or fully understands why…perhaps God may reveal it at the end of time, should He choose to do so.
What I do however know is that no matter what perplexing phenomena occurs in this earth realm, we as Believers must trust God’s Character, Wisdom and Sovereignty, respect the fact that His Ways are Higher than our ways and His Thoughts Higher than our thoughts, and accept the fact that He is God and we are not.
“Terrocane”Dorian leftUNPRECEDENTEDDEATH,and CATASTROPHIC DEVASTATIONon our islands of Abaco and Grand Bahama, but by God’s Grace, Wisdom, Mercy, and Provision, we will heal, rebuild and arise.

GUARD YOUR ANOINTING
By Elaine Tavolacci
The Lord gave me a profound word this week. It may be lengthy but I’d like to share the story from the book of Judges Chapters thirteen to sixteen before I share the word. There was a man in the bible named Samson. Samson’s mother was barren but an angel appeared to her and told her that she was going to have a son. He said that she was not to drink any wine and no razor shall come upon his head because he was called to be a Nazarite dedicated to God from the womb. A Nazarite was an Israelite who followed a rigorous regimen of purity and was consecrated and separated unto God. The angel also told her that her son was going to begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.
The angel reappeared to her and her husband Manoah after he prayed. They didn’t recognize that it was an angel as they spoke to him because he appeared as a man although his countenance was as an angel. He repeated to her husband what he had told her. He told them to prepare a burnt offering on an alter before the Lord. As they sacrificed a goat to the Lord, the flame went up toward heaven from off the altar, and the angel of the Lord ascended in the flame. When Manoah and his wife saw this, they fell with their faces to the ground realizing that it was an angel sent by God.
Samson was the last judge of Israel. Every time the Spirit of the Lord came upon him he had supernatural strength. He married a Philistine woman against Gods will and she left him. He killed a lion with his bare hands, he tied up 300 foxes and set their tails on fire to burn down all the vineyards, another time when the Philistines captured him, he broke out of shackles and killed 3,000 men with a jawbone of a dead donkey. One time the Lord brought water out of the ground to strengthen him.
Samson met with a harlot which opened the door for destruction in his life. He then fell in love with a woman named Delilah. We all know the story but there is a lot of metaphors and revelation in the story. Delilah was sent to pervert Samson’s destiny. The rulers of the Philistines went to Delilah and said, “We want to know what makes Samson so strong. Try to trick him into telling you his secret”. Then we will know how to capture him and tie him up. They then offered her a large amount of silver in return.
Delilah insisted that Samson tell her how he obtained his strength. ” Samson lied to Delilah three times before telling her the truth of his strength. He then told her that his strength was from his hair and that he never had it cut. This was part of the Nazarite vow. He fell asleep with his head on her lap and the Philistines came in and cut his hair off. When he awoke he didn’t even realize that he lost his strength. They then gouged his eyes out, put him in prison and made him a grinder. His hair began to grow back in the prison but he still didn’t have eyes.
They brought him outside the prison to perform for them. There were 3,000 men and women laughing at him and mocking him. He asked to lean against the pillars and cried out to the Lord to let him destroy the Philistines for taking out his eyes. Then Samson took hold of the two columns of the temple crying out to the Lord to take his own life also along with the Philistines lives. He then pulled the whole temple down killing the rulers and everyone there. Samson killed more Philistines when he died than when he was alive.
This is what the Lord is showing me. We have heard it said that Delilah represented a spirit of sexual seduction, but Delilah actually represents every seducing spirit. The devil wants to steal your strength. There are seducing spirits today just as Delilah who are trying to destroy your spiritual authority and your destiny. They are controlling, manipulating and sneaky. They will work through people, and they will try to seduce you back to addictions. These seducing spirits will try make believers backslide to drugs, alcohol or pornography. They are spirits of betrayal and dishonor.
Samson’s hair represented his anointing. When he lost his hair, he lost his strength. He lost his focus and tried operating in his own strength. Be careful who speaks into your life. Don’t be swayed by foolish men or women who try to derail you from your destiny. Don’t let others manipulate you. Samson’s eyes represented his spiritual sight and vision. The enemy wants to blind the spiritual eyes of every believer especially the prophets and the seers (Of God). Guard your eye gates. Don’t be deceived by the lusts of the flesh.
Although Samson began to gain his strength back while in prison, he died without receiving his sight. It is imperative to protect your vision. You don’t have to die in your sin as Samson did. Jesus made a Blood Covenant with us and through repentance we are able to turn any situation around before it is too late. Do not allow any seducing spirit to steal your spiritual strength. Your anointing and your calling are more precious than anything in the natural. Jesus is calling you to turn it around now while there is still time.
Judges Chapter 13 to Chapter 16 – Story of Samson
Ephesians 4:27 (TPT) – “Don’t give the slanderous accuser, the Devil, an opportunity to manipulate you!”
1 Peter 5: 8-9(NKJV) – “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour: Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.”

There’s much to meditate on and prayerfully consider.
I received the following prophetic word, “The Process Of Development” by Elaine Tavolacci this morning via my subscription to her website, http://www.awordinseason.info.
I believe is a timely word for many, and as such, am re-blogging it with her permission.
The Process Of Development
When I was a young girl we didn’t have mobile phones, computers or any type of digital devices. We used cameras to take pictures which had to go through a process of development. A negative was taken through several steps before a photograph was formed. The film was first taken into a dark room. It was then soaked in water, then converted into a metallic silver. It was then rinsed in clean water, and it was finally perfected by light. As the photograph was being developed it was handled carefully to avoid any damage, discoloration, or fading.
We live in a generation who has been spoiled with modern technology. We are able to take pictures instantly from just about any place in the world with a cell phone or other digital device. In the same way, so many of us resist the process that God brings us through, because we are looking for an instant “modern technology” transformation. Every one of us have been taken from a negative situation but so many of us are undeveloped because we haven’t allowed Him to continue with the process in our lives.
It is imperative that we spend time cultivating our relationship with Jesus in the dark room. We need to allow Him to take us through the process of development. This dark room is where our character is developed as our fleshly desires are crucified. This is the place of heartfelt repentance. This is the place where He trains us to hear His voice and know His ways. This is where our gifts are cultivated and dreams are birth. This is where new ideas are developed and new assignments are released. This Is where we place our prayer requests and receive answers to our prayers. This is where the Word of God becomes alive with revelation and vision is established.
The Lord says; allow Me to transform your life in this place. Allow Me to work in you and through you to bring every negative situation into a positive. Do not rebel and do not resist the process. Some say, it is too difficult but others understand that I am walking with them through it all. The process is necessary to be conformed and developed into My image. This is the place where all impurities and defilement will be destroyed and all bruises and blemishes will be erased. This is the place where the rough edges will be smooth out, broken hearts will be restored and wounds from the past will be removed.
The memories of the afflictions and traumas will be wiped away. This is the place where your mind will be renewed and you will learn to walk in integrity and grow in maturity. This place is necessary for your spiritual growth and fruit that will remain. Just as there is a process of maturation in the natural life, there is also a process in your spiritual life. Trust Me when you feel that the process is too challenging. My plans will be established through this process of development. This is where transformation will take place. This is where you will learn to walk, This is the place where you will receive healing and learn to grow into the person that you were created to be, says the Lord.
“Now I’ll listen carefully for your voice and wait to hear whatever you say. Let me hear your promise of peace – the message every one of your godly lovers longs to hear. Don’t let us in our ignorance turn back from following you.”
Psalm 85:8 (The Passion Translation)
“When you sit enthroned under the shadow of Shaddai, you are hidden in the strength of God Most High.”
Psalm 91:1 (The Passion Translation)
“Arise, my dearest. Hurry, my darling. Come away with me! I have come as you have asked to draw you to my heart and lead you out.”
Song of Solomon 2:10 (The Passion Translation)
By Elaine Tavolacci
I hope the word was a blessing to you...it was for me.
This morning when I walked onto my back patio, I saw this green shrub growing up through a crack in the concrete.
When I came inside and reflected on it and these words came to my spirit…
Push Through To The New
“Even as this shrub has pushed through this “impossible” concrete barren place and brought forth green leaves representing new things, in this season, if you determine to push through the “impossible” concrete barren place in your life, you too will bring forth green leaves of new things.”
Move Forward And Push
“Move forward and push. Push and I will help you break through the “impossible” concrete barren place. Push and I will help you penetrate that which has blocked your advancement. Push and I will cause you to break forth and flourish in the very place deemed “impossible” for you. “
Do Not Get Discouraged or Dismayed…Refocus
“Do not be discouraged. Do not be dismayed. Do not let past experiences paralyze you. Forget those things which are behind. Remember them no more. Refocus. Refocus and cast your net again. Refocus and build it again. Re-focus and step forward in faith and push, and as you push, I will make a way through what seems to be immoveable, indestructible, impenetrable barriers and will cause a breakthrough for you.”
Push Through To The New
“Even as this shrub has pushed through this “impossible” concrete barren place and brought forth green leaves representing new things, in this season if you determine to push through the “impossible” concrete barren place in your life, you too will bring forth green leaves of new things.”
Those are the words that came into my spirit as I reflected on the green shrub growing up through a crack in the concrete on my back patio.
They were a rhema word of encouragement for me because I am aware of the “impossible” concrete barren place in my life and am now determined more than ever before to trust God, refocus, and push through.
What about you?
Do you have an “impossible” concrete barren place in your life?
Do you have a dream, a vision, or a goal that you know at your very core that you need to move forward in, but you’re hesitating because you’ve tried it before and failed, or you’re afraid to try because of seemingly immoveable, indestructible, impenetrable barriers?
If so, be encouraged to trust God, refocus, and by His grace push through believing to see Him cause a breakthrough for you to His honor and glory.
God Will Make A Way
“This is what God says, the God who builds a road right through the ocean, who carves a path through pounding waves, The God who summons horses and chariots and armies— they lie down and then can’t get up; they’re snuffed out like so many candles: “Forget about what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history. Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new. It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it? There it is! I’m making a road through the desert, rivers in the badlands.”
Isaiah 43:16-19 – The Message Bible
I pray that just as this post was an igniting rhema word of encouragement for me, it was also for you.
“We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps.”
– Proverbs 16:9 NLT –
When I started Unwalled Words my intention was to write and post a minimum of once per week.
Things started out okay…then in June, life got busy.
Life Got Busy
Notice I did not say that I got busy…I said then in June, life got busy.
And, what do I mean by life got busy?
What I mean is that a cascade of extraordinary circumstances and difficult situations happened to people close to me and these persons reached out to me for support and help in various ways…it was like the old adage, “when it rains, it pours”.
As each situation presented itself, I knew within my spirit that I needed to help, and as such had no inherent problem doing so, but it did not come without a price.
The Price When Life Gets Busy
What was the price?
Helping them cost me lots of time, energy (mental, emotional, spiritual and physical), and focus, and this in turn, and most significantly, cost me the laying aside of the pursuit of some key personal goals and plans.
You may think, “So, what’s the big deal with that?…it happens to me lots of times…you sound selfish”.
And you’re right… on the surface.
It’s normally not a big deal for me to help in this way, in fact, as a person called to help others, it’s something that’s quite common in my life, but in this instance, what was different was the timing.
You see, at the beginning of the year, God told me that it’s time to re-build and pursue certain goals and plans that He had previously instructed me to place on hold, and I’ve steadily worked in that regard, but as June approached, I sensed an urgency in my spirit to bear down and push harder because an extra grace to move things forward would be present during the month.
This was confirmed when my pastor announced that the theme for the month of June was, “We’ve Got to Make a Move” and shared with us that He believed that God was saying that it was time to lay aside all previous hinderances and procrastination and move forward in the things that He has been speaking to us about both corporately and individually and as such, we need to make a move.
That confirmation placed a sense of urgency in me, and just as I was about to focusedly barrel down and push forward…life got busy.
Something Came Up Each Day
Each day, seemingly out of nowhere, something inevitably arose that necessitated my attention in some way resulting in the laying aside of what I’d purposed to do relative to pursuing my goals and plans.
Has that ever happened to you?
Has life ever gotten busy for you…at the “wrong” time?
Have you ever been in a season where there’s an urgency in your spirit to really push forward and focus on certain goals and plans and just as you are about to thrust forward, life got busy and unanticipated demands were placed on you that necessitated a shift away from your intended focus onto the needs of others, and you found yourself getting everywhere with everyone else’s plans, but nowhere with your own?
As the days passed, on one hand I felt good in my spirit because I believe the Lord wanted me available to help as I did and I could see Him at work in the various situations, but on the other hand, I felt frustration threatening to brew inside because June, the month of divine acceleration to move forward with my goals and plans, was quickly running out and my progress in that regard was zero.
One morning last week, frustration was no longer a threat, but had become a reality, so I began to talk with the Lord about what was transpiring.
Not far in, He reminded me of a powerful reality that I knew, but embarrassingly had allowed circumstances to cloud.
The essence of what He said was:
Do you not make yourself available to Me and ask Me to order your steps each day?…And do you not place everything including your plans before Me each morning and ask that My will be done?
So, what’s the problem?
Why are you frustrated?
Have I not answered your prayers?
He was right.
What was the problem?
Why was I frustrated?
In light of my prayers, and the fact that God is God and He knows best, there was no real reason at all.
God’s Manifested Will Trumps All
Since I’d already asked the Lord to order my steps each day and had committed everything including my plans to Him each morning, and asked for His will to be done, by faith I needed to accept that each of the extraordinary situations and circumstances that arose where others needed my help and I could sense the Lord wanting me to help, were a part of His manifested will, and as such submitting to the same was more important than sticking to previously authorized and approved plans so there was no problem nor need for frustration.
With that simple shift in perspective and alignment with spiritual reality, my frustration evaporated.
Instead of seeing June as a frustrating, “wasted” month because of a lack of progress in my goals and plans, I saw it as a month of service to others and faithful submission to the Lord’s manifested will.
When life gets busy, as we submit to God’s manifested will, what a difference a shift in perspective and alignment with spiritual reality can make!
And, not only that, because of my pliable posture and obedience to His will, the Lord has promised to redeem the divine acceleration what I “missed” in June…what a blessing!
Today if you find yourself in a similar season and/or situation to the one I was in, I pray that this post is a source of encouragement and help that leads to spiritual alignment, breakthrough and peace for you.
Yesterday morning, among a few other things, “my plan” was to write and share a post.
I had everything nicely scheduled when one of my sons asked if I could assist him with a matter that would take a significant amount of time and I immediately knew in my spirit that I needed to lay aside “my plan” and help him instead.
As I shifted “my plan”, the Lord reminded me that as Women of God, it is important for us to be dedicated to our goals, plans and commitments, but not to the extent where when presented with an “interruption” we doggedly hang on to them instead of pausing and seeking His wisdom and direction.
When “interrupted”, before saying or doing anything, it is critical that we pause and seek direction from the Lord with an open spirit, recognizing that there may be times when He tells us to deny the request and continue on with our plan because the request is actually a diabolical plan of distraction in disguise, or times when He tells us to temporarily lay aside our plan because the request is a divine assignment that He needs us to attend to.
The bottom line in all of this is that life in the Spirit is not about allegiance to our goals, plans, or commitments no matter how good, noble, or lofty they may be, but it’s about our allegiance to the Lord, about discerning His Will, and following His Lead in each situation…it’s about Divine Flow.
Even as I write, I recognize that His Flow for this post has changed direction. There’s been a definite shift away from what I originally intended to share. That word has become a “then word”, and this word has become a “now word”, fresh manna for someone’s soul today…it’s all about discerning and going with His Flow.
Women of God, God wants us to be mindful of flowing with His Spirit in every situation and circumstance, even if it means temporarily or even permanently interrupting our goals, plans or commitments because on this journey, it’s not about us, it’s about Him…His Word, His Will, His Plans. His Purposes…not ours.
So, moving forward, I challenge you to make a conscious, intentional decision to place each “interruption” you encounter before the Lord to determine if it is a diabolical distraction or a divine assignment.
Discern His will then follow His lead because it’s all Him and being in His Divine Flow.
