Holding On To Dead Things
Can you imagine a tree, covered in old, dry, brittle, lifeless, brown leaves yet refusing to shed them?
Can you imagine a tree doing that?
But before you scoff at and criticize the tree, take a look at your own life.
Are you like that tree in any way?
What old, dry, brittle, lifeless, things are you holding onto that you know in your core that the Lord has told you it’s time to release, yet you continue to hold on to?
A position, friendship, relationship?
A job, career, investment?
A denomination, place of fellowship, ministry function?
A habit, attitude, way of speaking, thinking, or dressing?
What old, dry, brittle, lifeless, things are you holding on to that the Lord has told you it’s time to release?
You know that these things no longer carry life.
You know in your heart that they are dead, yet you still continue to give them CPR and to hold on to them.
It’s Time To Let Go

Two things can not occupy the same space.
The old old must go in order for the new to come.
Today the Lord says…
“Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
19 See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland.”
Isaiah 43:18, 19 – NIV
What are you going to do?
Let this be your moment of change.
By the grace of God stop giving CPR to the dead things in your life…shed those old, dry, brittle, lifeless, brown leaves…loose them and let then go.
God wants to do a new thing in and through you and wants to get new things to you.
So shun fear, pride or whatever may be holding you back.
Trust God and take the leap of faith today.
Release the old things that God has spoken to you about and make room for and position yourself to receive the new.

God is waiting on you.
“Stop dwelling on the past.
Don’t even remember these former things.
19 I am doing something brand new, something unheard of.
Even now it sprouts and grows and matures.
Don’t you perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness
and open up flowing streams in the desert.(Isaiah 43:18, 19 – TPT)
